Introducing The 2019 Ram 1500 Tradesman Model
Posted on January 18, 2021
At North York Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, we're genuinely excited about the announcement of the 2019 Ram 1500 Tradesman. Ram unveiled the pickup truck during the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) "The Work Truck Show" that took place in Indianapolis, Indiana. Now we want to tell you all about this new addition to the Ram 1500 lineup and what it means for fans of Ram trucks.
Target Owners
As the name implies, the Ram 1500 Tradesman is aimed at people who use their truck for a vocation. That's the biggest traditional market for pickup trucks, considering these are the kinds of vehicles that are made to haul, tow, and work hard.
This means those who work at construction jobsites, run a small business, or run commercial fleets could potentially be interested in this new truck model. Since 2011, the Tradesman has been serving hard-working customers in every way they need, and the 2019 model carries on this tradition.
Configurations and Power
You'll be able to get the 2019 Ram 1500 Tradesman in a few different configurations, depending on your needs and preferences. One is a Quad Cab paired up with a 6-foot 4-inch bed, another is a Crew Cab with a 5-foot 7-inch bed, and the third is a Crew Cab with a 6-foot 4-inch bed.
Two engine choices help you further customize the pickup truck. Ram will offer the 3.6-litre Pentastar V-6 paired with a mild hybrid system as the standard engine. If you need more power and capability, a 5.7-litre Hemi V-8 is the upgraded offering. Either engine can be teamed up with two-wheel or four-wheel drive.
Thanks to clever engineering, these engines don't need to handle as much weight. The Ram 1500 has shed 102 kilograms (225 pounds) thanks to high-strength steel and different designs. This combination means the Tradesman can tow up to 5,783 kilograms (12,750 pounds), which is plenty for dealing with some big trailers and other equipment. A Class III trailer hitch comes standard, plus a lighted four- and seven-pin trailer wire connector that sits over the bumper.
The truck can also handle a payload up to 1,043 kilograms (2,300 pounds) with a four-door quad cab setup. You don't need to worry about stopping while hauling or towing, because the Ram 1500 Tradesman has 14.9-inch front brakes, the largest in the segment.
Excellent Equipment
While the primary reason for buying the 2019 Ram 1500 Tradesman is the rugged capabilities, other equipment makes the pickup truck even more enjoyable. For example, you can order either cloth or vinyl for the seats. A 40/20/40 front bench means the trucks can transport up to six people at a time.
On the technology side, a Uconnect 5.0 infotainment system features a 5-inch full-colour touchscreen. You enjoy hands-free calling, making it easy to stay in touch with coworkers and others while driving. One year of a SiriusXM satellite radio subscription is included. To keep your devices charged up or to use other items in the cab, Ram includes a 12-volt auxiliary power outlet, plus three USB ports.
