2019 Jeep Cherokee Trim - North vs Limited

As you shop for a compact SUV and zero in on the 2019 Jeep Cherokee, you might be wondering what's the difference between the many trim levels. More specifically, we want to address what the 2019 Jeep Cherokee Limited has that the 2019 Jeep Cherokee North doesn't.

We know Jeep SUVs extremely well at North York Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. Allow us to help you make sense of these two trims, so you make an educated purchase decision.

Exterior Design

One of the first things you'll notice that's different between the Jeep Cherokee North and Limited is the look of the exterior. Jeep likes to differentiate trims using details on the body. If you pay attention, you'll notice some of the following items.

Both versions of the SUV have chrome grille surrounds. The Limited also has bright front and rear lower fascia accents, giving it an even more upscale appearance.

You get body-colour, power-adjustable exterior mirrors on both versions of the Jeep Cherokee. However, with the Limited the SUV gains courtesy lamps and supplemental turn signals embedded in those mirrors. Those are a nice bonus that can keep you safer.

You'll notice the Jeep Cherokee Limited looks a little sportier, thanks to 18-inch polished aluminum wheels. The North rides on 17-inch aluminum wheels instead.

Capability

One of the big reasons to buy a Jeep is to enjoy the famous capabilities. After all, Jeeps help you get through snowy roads, rugged trails, and just about anywhere else you want to go.

Both versions of the Jeep Cherokee can use the all-new 2.0-litre Turbo engine. It delivers a smooth 271 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque, so getting up to speed isn't a problem. You can select the 2.4-litre Tigershark MultiAir four-cylinder engine, which produces 180 horsepower and 170 lb.-ft. of torque. Finally, both trims can be outfitted with the 3.2-litre Pentastar V-6. With that engine you can tow up to 2,041 kg (4,500 lb.).

Functionality

People buy SUVs because they're great for getting things done. Both versions of the Jeep Cherokee come with equipment that address everyday needs, plus help you have fun on the weekends.

With the Limited trim, the vehicle gains a power liftgate. That's great for anyone who can't reach the tailgate easily when it's completely open. It also helps if you're carrying items and can't grab the handle, plus hoist the tailgate up.

Automatic headlamps on the Limited help with keeping the vehicle more visible in the dark, plus boosting your ability to see clearly. They also keep you from accidentally leaving the lights on and draining the battery. This feature isn't available on the North trim.

Canadian winters are anything but comfortable. With the Limited, you enjoy a heated steering wheel and heated front seats. A leather-wrapped shift knob and nappa leather upholstery are also standard, but not included on the North.

As the driver, you're further pampered by the Jeep Cherokee Limited, thanks to a 7-inch in-cluster display. The screen is full-colour, so you see vibrant menus that are easier to read. The included auto-dimming rearview mirror included on the Limited prevents you from being blinded by other cars at night.

Even more conveniences come on the Limited, like a cargo cover, universal garage door opener, and driver memory settings. A 115-volt auxiliary power outlet allows you to plug in household items, so you can bring along all kinds of conveniences for trips.
