2021 RAM 1500 - Everything You Need To Know

2021 RAM 1500

Whether you are a longtime pickup truck aficionado or you simply want to invest in a sturdy, functional new vehicle, the Ram 1500 is a classic, full size pickup truck which will serve you well, both off-road as well as on our city streets. Once you have your hands on that steering wheel, you’ll truly understand the torque and horsepower that rules this beast. At CarHub Automotive Group, we are proud to carry 2021 Ram 1500 and to serve our clientele of devoted Ram drivers.

The Ram 1500 has racked up many awards over the years including Motortrend’s Truck of the Year 6 times, the Canadian Truck King Challenge 3 times, and Ward’s 10 Best Engines award 3 times.

Fuel Economy:

When it comes to fuel economy, Driving.ca reports that the 2021 Ram 1500 offers 11.9 L/100 km (city) and 9.4 L/100 km (highway).

We strongly believe that there are countless reasons to drive home in one of these timeless, powerful beauties, which is why we had a tough time compiling just 15 reasons! At the same time, words can hardly put the sheer enjoyment and boundless adventure which accompanies #RamLife into words! You’ll simply have to make an appointment at one of our CarHub locations (North York Chrysler or Caledon Chrysler), and visit us today for a test drive and a conversation with one of our friendly Product Advisors. In the meantime, have a look at CarHub’s roundup of reasons to buy a Ram 1500 right now.

1) Powerful engines:

For anyone looking for a supercharged engine, the Ram is highly regarded for its top-of-the-line diesel torque  , which comes as a result of its EcoDiesel engine. The available 5.7L Hemi V8 with TorqueFlite 8 speed automatic transmission is revolutionary replacing the usual alternator on an engine with a 48-volt battery powered, belt-driven motor generator. This all adds up for an efficient truck with extraordinary towing capability and drivability. Meanwhile, the new Ram 1500 TRX is in a class of its own coming equipped with an adrenaline-boosting Hellcat engine. Exclusive to FCA’s Dodge vehicles, the Hellcat is renowned for its ability to offer 707 horsepower.

2) Different drive modes:

It’s likely that you’ll be using your Ram truck for far more than just the everyday commute to work! In fact, we encourage you to indulge in the varying drive modes that come with this beauty, whether you are powering through the snow or exploring rough terrain in the great outdoors. These modes include Normal mode (probably best suited for your daily commute), along with Wet/Snow, Baja (desert), Off-Road and Mud/Sand.

3) Safety ratings:

Safety is always important, particularly when you’re powering a diesel engine and a very large vehicle! Whether you’re hauling a load to a construction site, trekking to the cottage for a weekend getaway with the family, or helping a friend move furniture, you’ll have the power and reliability to trust your truck to do the job and get you there safely. Ram 1500s have won countless awards over the years including Car and Driver’s five-star crash-test rating from National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for the 2021 Ram 1500. The trucks also feature blind spot monitoring to alert you to a vehicle that you might not see beside you, a forward collision avoidance warning system in case your truck senses a potential collision ahead of you and adaptive cruise control with Stop and Go which can slow your Ram 1500 to a stop.

4) High quality interiors:

For the first time ever and for good reason, a truck won cars.com’s award as the Luxury Car of the Year for 2020! The interior of these trucks is impressive with its leather seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, premium wood and chrome finishes, reclining seats and state-of-the-art infotainment system. The touchscreen is available in an 8.4” screen and some models feature a touchscreen the size of a large tablet at 12”. Add to that the intuitive and easy to control functionality, and you’ll love the experience.

5) Crew Cab and Quad Cab:

The Ram 1500 truly stands out for its two different cab types. The crew cab version features rear doors that are full-sized, while the Quad Cab takes the original design to bigger and better heights. The Quad Cab will provide you with more space and comfort, with the addition of two extra front doors and an extra row of seats. The interior storage is unprecedented with almost twice the interior storage of other similar trucks – check out the Ram bins in the floor and the extra storage under the rear seats!

6) Awesome cargo space:

We are not quite sure what you intend to store in the bed of your new Ram from CarHub. It could be groceries, camping equipment, ski equipment or furniture, but we already know that the spacious cargo area of the Ram will serve you well! Get ready to hit the roads with either a 6 foot 4 inch bed for the Quad Cab size, or a smaller (but still roomy) 5 foot 7 inch one for the Crew Cab.

7) Infotainment and sound system:

Ready to blast tunes as you cruise down the highway or traverse those winding country roads? Luckily, the high-end Harman Kardon car sound system is here to keep the beats pumpin’. It’s the most powerful audio system ever offered in a pickup truck. With 19 speakers, a 10 inch subwoofer and a 900 watt amplifier you’ll have a full surround sound experience which is unheard of for a truck let alone most luxury vehicles. The trucks feature Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, and SiriusXM Satellite Radio. Add to that the fact that you have acoustic glass and noise cancellation technology built into the Ram’s cabin, and you simply couldn’t ask for more. With USB, Bluetooth and WiFi compatibility, the Ram makes it easy for you to blast that road trip playlist.

8) Heads-Up Display (HUD):

The 2021 Ram 1500 includes a heads-up display (known as HUD for short), which is provided from Uconnect and is a brand new feature for Rams. This new display can be customized to show various types of driving data at once. That means you can check out your navigation, adjust your cruise control and make sure you’re staying in your lane, all thanks to HUD (according to Driving.ca).

9) Coil suspension:

While we are all about a luxurious interior, we also care about the inner workings of this classic vehicle, which is a smooth ride partially due to its suspension. The Ram 1500 is unique as it features coil rear suspension, whereas many other vehicles feature leaf suspension. As well, the Ram Limited boasts air ride suspension, making your drive a breeze. You may be wondering what the difference is, particularly if this is your first time researching the Ram and you’re a new truck buyer! Simply put, the coils in coil suspension are made out of steel, and as the car moves, the coil spring is able to extend itself allowing for more movement. Meanwhile, leaf springs are out of long and curved strips and are secured in the centre. And air suspension will give you that smooth ride with a flip of a switch.

10) Family-friendly:

The Ram 1500 has taken this pickup truck from being just a work truck, to a great vehicle for the family too. You might have a handful of little ones who you need to drive around town, to daycare, school or extra-curricular activities. On the other hand, you could have a lively household where embracing the outdoors is key. Whatever your family’s style, they will be safe and secure in a Ram 1500, and will also have plenty of entertainment and legroom for the drive.

11) Perfect for road trips:

Speaking of space, did we mention road trips? Whether your travels take you to the cottage up north, through rugged terrain or simply along the highway and outside of the city limits, you’ll be impressed with the Ram 1500’s performance on road trips. The rear seats are as comfortable as the front seats and they’re higher than many other large vehicles so it’s a better view for those in the back. There are plenty of cup holders so everyone has somewhere to put their drinks, and there are USB ports in the front and back seats including type A and type C charging ports to accommodate your devices.

12) Practical for work:

If you are a tradesperson, you’ll be pleased with the practicality of a Ram 1500 Tradesman. You can easily transport all your cargo for work, with large equipment and supplies easily fitting in the bed of the truck, for a secure and functional work truck experience. While there are more luxurious features on some of the other models, the standard features on this one are still going to provide you with a comfortable ride and a powerful truck for all your needs. It includes trailer sway damping, blind spot monitoring and a rear backup camera.

13) Towing capacity:

Another fact which will please tradespeople and families alike is the towing capacity of the Ram 1500. Maybe you are driving to the countryside with your camper attached, or simply towing cargo for a new job, but either way, this beast boasts an impressive capacity. The Ram 1500 is able to tow up to 12,750 pounds and also to carry a payload of up to 2,320 pounds. The eTorque mild hybrid system will also give you more power when you need it.

14) RamBox:

From snacks and beverages for once you arrive at your destination to miscellaneous cargo, the classic RamBox is certainly a perk of this pickup truck. The RamBox is a cargo management system which makes toting items in your truck incredibly easy and safe. The RamBox fits into the bed of your Ram, allowing you to pack up your essentials without worrying about dirt, debris or mess.

15) ParkView Rear Back-Up Camera:

When you’re manoeuvering such a sizeable vehicle, being able to reverse carefully and safely is key. Thankfully, the Ram 1500 comes equipped with a back-up camera that offers a digital glimpse of your rear view, and results in a safer parking/reversing job as a result.

Loads of awesome trims

The 2021 Ram 1500 comes with varying trim levels, ranging from the affordable Tradesman to the exclusive and elite TRX. Here’s a closer, in depth look at all of the Ram 1500 trims.

Tradesman:

As the basic model of the 2021 Ram 1500, the Tradesman is practical and functional, without any frills or fuss. The interior comes with vinyl floor covers that are easy and convenient to clean. Big Horn:

As the next trim level, the Big Horn features a few enhancements that are not available on the Tradesman. The 2021 Ram 1500 Big Horn comes with 18-inch aluminum wheels, versus the standard steel wheels offered on the Tradesman. There are also conveniently large tow hooks, along with the addition of three USB ports. These ports include two that are placed on the vehicle’s lower left, along with one that is located in the upper lid of the bench seat.

Sport:

The Sport takes things to the next level when it comes to wheel sizes, as this Ram 1500 trim level features 20-inch black aluminum wheels (versus the 18-inchers offered on the two previous trims). On the inside, the Sport features a customizable display centre with a 7-inch screen. You’ll stay cozy with the heated front seats and steering wheel, particularly on chilly mornings. There are also more advanced safety features in place, like Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking.

Feeling rebellious- and ready for adventure? You need the Ram 1500 Rebel trim, which features an interior look and feel that is unique in comparison to the lower level trims. With the Rebel, you will be treated to black interior trim adorned with red accents, for a stylish colour scheme. As well, the vehicle interior is accented with door trim panels and floor mats. The Rebel also features a vented performance hood and black powder-coated bumpers. In terms of technical specs, the vehicle is developed with an electronic rear locking axle (ELocker) and equipped with Bilstein Off-Road Shocks.

Laramie:

With the Laramie, we begin to enter more high-end territory when it comes to the 2021 Ram 1500 trim levels. You can tell it’s a Laramie from the signature badging, which sets this beauty apart from other trims. There are black leather-faced seats detailed with perforated inserts, plus a front bench seat that is standard. You’ll be driving on 18-inch aluminum wheels (18-inch wheels are also found on the Tradesman and Big Horn). Get ready to blast your favourite tunes with 10 amplified speakers and a subwoofer. Meanwhile, cool-looking chrome badging completes the front and rear bumpers, grille, door handles and headlamp bezels.

Limited Longhorn:

Detailed with a Limited Longhorn badge, this Limited Longhorn boasts 22-inch polished aluminum wheels. Along with the bigger wheels, there are a number of other premium features as well. The interiors are decked out with full-leather seats, plus rubber slush mats and removable carpet inserts to keep your ride clean. The centre console can also be reconfigured, for a truly customizable experience.

Limited:

It’s referred to as the “most luxurious truck in its class”, and we truly understand why when it comes to all the specs of the Limited. Built with 12-way power seats that feature 4-way lumbar adjustment, the Limited focuses on comfort and ease. There is also a special tailgate applique that proudly boasts the “Limited” name. Meanwhile, a large 12 inch touchscreen gives you a better and bigger view when it comes to infotainment.

TRX:

For anyone who has dreamed of the sheer force of a HEMI engine with the classic practicality of a Ram, the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX is likely a dream come true. It’s the only Ram 1500 to be loaded with a 6.2L Supercharged HEMI V8 engine. When it comes to tires, the TRX is certainly not playing and size matters- this baby is packed with impressive 35-inchers that are Goodyear Wrangler Territory All-Terrain Tires. On the inside, entertainment features are a major plus, as the UConnect 4C comes with 12-inch touchscreen and navigation. In terms of aesthetics, the unique features of the TRX come to light with a special TRX Performance Hood that features a Functional Air Scoop and Heat Extractors
